Team Coaching

Gettin' good players is easy. Gettin' 'em to play together is the hard part. --- Casey Stengel

Human beings have always collaborated, realizing that in combining their individual talents they would be able to achieve superior results than they could obtain on their own. Many organizations have emerged that depend on bringing together both similar and diverse talent in order to achieve their goals.

A key differentiator between organizations is how well their people work together, in teams or groups. Teams are constantly forming and re-forming, and the individuals involved must adjust to each other and what their goals are. At Renaissance Coaching, we enhance team performance using the Living Systems Approach -- a method which transforms groups and teams through conversations and experiential activities that evolve specifically from the team’ s unique context and mandate.

The benefits of the Living Systems Approach (LSA) for the team and for its members are enhanced performance, learning and fulfilment. These positive results, and the transformed attitudes that have been generated, are sustainable beyond the coaching assignment.

All types of teams can be considered for team coaching with LSA, including:

LSA is a creative process which is tailored to the needs of each group. The team brings its collective issues to the table. The coaching process centres on finding a way for each team member to bring their unique strengths and gifts forward within a team/group context in a manner that supports the team. Member diversity is regarded as a strength of the team and each member is encouraged to contribute. There are deep conversations about what really matters to the team, beyond surface issues. As the conversation proceeds, the team aligns on how they will move forward together.

Team coaching is a way to optimize the returns from good people working together. Please refer to the article on team coaching at http://www.rencoach.ca/d_Atl.htm, or refer to the Contact section, if you would like to explore this subject further for your team.
